COVID-19 update from The Smile Center

To Our Patients,

We understand and deeply respect that you may be concerned about Coronavirus in public places… even at our state-of-the-art sterilized office.

At The Smile Center, I want to assure you that our office has even further heightened our already rigid sterilization safeguards and office cleaning standards to minimize the possibility of transmission to our outstanding team…or to you, our valued patient. We have always far exceeded all standards for sterilization and patient care.

Our first priority is always the health and well-being of our patients. And that is a priority we take extremely seriously, even with the current disruptions we’re all experiencing.

Your dental health remains important to us as it plays such an important role in your overall health.

When you visit our office, you’ll see we’ve taken all the necessary steps to ensure you have the best patient experience possible. If you are experiencing any symptoms, please do not come to our office and call us to reschedule your appointment. We care for you and all our patients. If we see any symptoms in our patients or our team, we will reschedule the appointment on the spot and send that individual home.

It is just one more way that we can show our high level of care for you…and for everyone in our community. We very much look forward to seeing you, your family, and your friends very soon.

Sincerely,

Dr. John Miller
The Smile Center

Relax & Leave All Your Cares at the Door

At The Smile Center, we believe that dentistry should be as comfortable as possible. No matter how anxious you are about your visit with us, we’ll do our best to help you relax.

Feel free to take advantage of a warm, cozy blanket or a soft pillow to help you feel right at home. Our patient care rooms also feature ceiling-mounted TVs and headphones. We understand, however, that many of our patients will need a little extra help to fully relax.

That’s why we offer you two great dental sedation options. We’ll happily discuss both in detail with you so you can decide which one you’d like to use.

Our mildest form of sedation is laughing gas, or inhaled sedation. After breathing in the gas through a comfortable mask, you’ll almost immediately begin to feel relaxed all over. The sedative may even make you slightly euphoric and giddy.

Pretty soon, the idea of dental work won’t bother you at all. Afterward, the gas’s effects will wear off quickly, and you’ll have no problem driving yourself home.

For patients with more severe dental anxiety, we offer oral conscious sedation. Dr. John Miller is our expert, having completed advanced training with the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. He uses oral sedatives in pill form that are considered highly safe. He will consider your medical history, among other factors, before giving you an oral sedative.

The easy-to-swallow pill will give you a feeling of total relaxation, and you may even be a bit groggy. Patients often report that with this type of sedation, they have little or no memory of their procedure. Afterward, a friend or family member will need to drive you home, as the pill’s effects will take a few hours to diminish.

Sit back and relax with our Georgetown sedation options. Call us today to schedule a pleasant dental experience: 843-492-5026.
