COVID-19 update from The Smile Center

To Our Patients,

We understand and deeply respect that you may be concerned about Coronavirus in public places… even at our state-of-the-art sterilized office.

At The Smile Center, I want to assure you that our office has even further heightened our already rigid sterilization safeguards and office cleaning standards to minimize the possibility of transmission to our outstanding team…or to you, our valued patient. We have always far exceeded all standards for sterilization and patient care.

Our first priority is always the health and well-being of our patients. And that is a priority we take extremely seriously, even with the current disruptions we’re all experiencing.

Your dental health remains important to us as it plays such an important role in your overall health.

When you visit our office, you’ll see we’ve taken all the necessary steps to ensure you have the best patient experience possible. If you are experiencing any symptoms, please do not come to our office and call us to reschedule your appointment. We care for you and all our patients. If we see any symptoms in our patients or our team, we will reschedule the appointment on the spot and send that individual home.

It is just one more way that we can show our high level of care for you…and for everyone in our community. We very much look forward to seeing you, your family, and your friends very soon.

Sincerely,

Dr. John Miller
The Smile Center

Boost Your Confidence With Bad Breath Treatment in Georgetown

Bad breath, or halitosis, isn’t just embarrassing. It can signal a dental problem, or even a broader medical problem, that may require treatment. Dr. John Miller will root out the cause of your halitosis and help you get rid of it with bad breath treatment in Georgetown.

Our treatment will:

  • Make you more comfortable in social situations
  • Improve your oral health by eliminating underlying causes like gum disease
  • Give you more confidence when meeting new people

Don’t avoid close contact with others because of your bad breath! Let Dr. Miller treat your halitosis and stop worrying for good. Call 843-492-5026 for a halitosis consultation.

Eliminate Underlying Causes of Your Bad Breath Problem

There are many possible causes of bad breath. Bacteria in your mouth is one of the most common, especially if it has already caused:

  • Decay/cavities
  • Gum disease
  • Dry mouth

In these cases, we will treat the underlying causes. Removing bacteria-filled plaque from your teeth with a thorough dental cleaning usually helps. If we find cavities in any of your teeth, we’ll remove all the odor-causing decay and seal your tooth with a filling to protect it from further decay. For larger cavities, we may use a dental crown. If decay has gotten into the center of your tooth, you will likely need a root canal.

A good dental cleaning can also treat minor cases of gum disease. For more advanced cases, we’ll suggest a deep cleaning gum disease treatment called scaling and root planing. In addition, we advise using an antibacterial mouth rinse called Tooth & Gums Tonic. The tonic is also a good treatment for dry mouth.

Fight Bad Breath With Good Oral Hygiene

Good oral care goes a long way toward fighting bad breath. So you’ll want to create a regular tooth brushing and flossing routine. Brushing your tongue or using a tongue scraper can also really help. Other tips include:

  • Drink lots of water
  • Chew sugar-free gum or suck on sugar-free mints
  • Don’t smoke or use other tobacco products
