Heather has been a dental hygienist at The Smile Center since 2008, when she first began her career in the dental field. Besides her degree in dental hygiene, she also holds certification in dental assisting and laughing gas monitoring. Each year when choosing her continuing education courses, Heather tries to select various areas to update herself on the advancements in dentistry. She really enjoys her job and helping others with their oral health. Heather also loves that we are all like family, both coworkers and our patients alike.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. They love to do anything outdoors. They spend most of their time off during the spring and summer either boating or by the pool.
Emily grew up in Boiling Springs, PA and studied dental hygiene at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) in Pennsylvania, graduating in 2010. She has been a hygienist ever since and has been with The Smile Center since 2015. Emily currently holds a license to practice dental hygiene in South Carolina and Pennsylvania. She is CPR certified and has a permit to administer anesthesia in Pennsylvania. She enjoys dental hygiene and the ability to connect with her patients as well as provide outstanding care and education about preventive techniques and products.
Emily and her husband, James, moved from northern Virginia in 2015 and built a house here in Myrtle Beach. Their daughter, Aubrey, was born in 2016, and they have a beagle named Bailey. For fun, Emily enjoys spending time with her beautiful family, going to the beach, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, reading, and running.
Autumn started her career in dentistry in 2016 as a dental hygienist and has been with Dr. Miller at The Smile Center since 2018. Along with her license in dental hygiene, she is also certified in nitrous oxide and administering local anesthesia. Autumn loves talking and connecting to her patients, along with educating them about their oral health to achieve their best smile.
Autumn is a South Carolina native and never plans to leave. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her husband and two children. Her family attends Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church, loves traveling, and doing anything outdoors.
Elizabeth has been with The Smile Center since 2016, but she has been in dentistry since 2014 as an expanded duties dental assistant. She is certified in dental radiology, infection control, chairside assisting, and CPR. Elizabeth has completed continuing education courses at the Hinman Dental Meeting and the SCDA Convention. She loves working with people and helping them achieve more self-confidence through their smile.
In her free time, Elizabeth does CrossFit, spends time playing with her dog, CY, and spends time with her family.
Carmen has been working at The Smile Center since July 2010. However, she has been dental assisting since 2001. She enjoys being able to make people feel better about their smiles. When she is not working, Carmen enjoys spending time with her family. Carmen is also fluent in Spanish.
Becki has been a dental assistant for over 20 years. She is also certified in dental radiography, laughing gas delivery and monitoring, CPR, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She was also the clinical instructor for a dental assisting school for seven years. Becki has been with Dr. Miller’s practice since 2015.
In her “off work” time, Becki is raising a teenage grandson with autism plus providing care for 13 rescue cats. The most gratifying thing about her job is that she is able to provide care for so many people in need. Becki was born a caregiver, and that is exactly what she does best. Her personal life reflects that. It is what she does.
Barbara has been in the dental field for more than 20 years. She began working at the Georgetown location in 2007 and has since relocated to the Murrells Inlet location. What Barbara loves most about this office is our ability to provide our patients with the best care in the Grand Strand. In her free time, Barbara spends as much time as she can with her daughter. She is also involved in church choir.
Sandy is a local girl! She grew up in Georgetown and worked for many years in Charleston. She began her dental career in 1997 and has been a fixture of our team since 2012. She is a fantastic member of our team because she is able to put patients at ease the moment they walk through the door! She especially loves children.
Sandy is a big fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks as well as the Carolina Panthers. She enjoys fishing and time at the beach, as well as visiting friends and family in Utah each year for Christmas.
Tammy has been working with Dr. Miller since 2006 at the Georgetown location, but she has been in dentistry since 2002. She graduated magna cum laude from Florence-Darlington Technical College in 2004 with an associate’s degree in health science. She holds several certifications, such as laughing gas and infiltration anesthesia. She attends various continuing education programs throughout the year. Tammy loves her profession! She likes teaching and helping patients. She also enjoys knowing that she is making a difference in her patients’ lives.
Tammy loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, BJ, particularly hunting and fishing. She also enjoys being with family and going to their sporting events. She is a member of Black River Freewill Baptist Church, where she teaches Sunday school and serves on several committees.
